    Books in Homes has three Programmes – 0-3 Programme, Preschool Programme and Primary Programme – that support literacy development for Australian children. Follow the links below to learn more about the Programmes:

    • 0-3 Programme - With selection of books appropriate for Playgroups and community centres
    • Preschool Programme - With selection of books appropriate for Preschool children
    • Primary Programme - With selection of books appropriate for primary schools

    Books in Homes approach incorporates the following focus areas:

    • Giving students and families choice – all participating students and families get to choose which books they wish to own from a selection of books
    • Bringing learning home – by giving families and students ownership of books, the Books in Homes Programme provides a resource for parents to read to their children at home while building up their home libraries.
    • Building the “whole community / school literacy” – the schools and community centres will receive a sets of books to keep each term to increase local access to literature and celebrates reading with Book Giving Assembly.
