What's Happening in our Schools?
Thank You Song by M'Bungara School, NT
Students at M'Bungara School in remote Northern Territory has written a song to thank their sponsor - Mr Bill King!
1 At M’Bunghara School,
We’ve got M’Bunghara style,
We make people laugh,
We make people smile,
You will look at our stuff,
And in a little while,
You will change your ways,
To go the extra mile,
And do your work like us,
Make it M’Bunghara style.
Chorus
2 We’ve got Shannon and Shane,
We’ve got Terrence too,
They will read a poem,
Or do a dance for you,
They will sing you a song,
Or do a play, it’s true,
You will wish you were here,
And be a part of it too,
Because M’Bunghara style,
Is what’s right for you.
Chorus
3 We’ve got Ranesha and Tiko,
We’ve got Ernestine,
They all come to school,
‘Cause they are really keen,
The way they read those books,
It is a sight to be seen,
They have a favourite one,
About a girl who’s been,
To learn M’Bunghara style,
Now she is the queen.
Chorus
4 There are 2 new kids,
In our neighbourhood,
They come to school,
Which is really good,
Tamara knows that,
She really should,
Tristan says,
“You know we would,
Teach you M’Bunghara style,
If we only could.”
Chorus
5 We get Books in Homes,
In summer, winter and spring,
Our books are from a man,
Of whom we know nothing,
Except we know his name,
It’s Mr Billy King,
Thanks to this wonderful man,
We can tell you one thing.
That when our books arrive,
We just have to sing.
Chorus
M’Bunghara style,
Shout it out loud,
M’Bunghara style,
Shout it out loud,
M’Bunghara style,
Shout it out loud,
M’Bunghara style,
Shout it out loud,
M’Bunghara style.
